Marketing tools

Newsletter sign-ups through Brevo, a first-order promo popup, campaign sliders and banners, testimonials, Today's Deals and share buttons, all run from wp-admin.

The storefront ships with the tools a marketing team reaches for every week: a newsletter that feeds your email platform, an offer popup for new visitors, campaign slots on the home and shop pages, and social proof. Everything is edited in WordPress and reaches Shoppers without a redeploy.

The popup, sliders, banners and testimonials show built-in placeholder content; newsletter sign-ups need a connected Companion plugin

A Subscribe field in the footer (and anywhere else you add one with the footer builder) collects email addresses. Shoppers see a clear result in a small dialog: You’re subscribed!, Check your inbox to confirm when double opt-in is on, or You’re already on the list. When a Shopper confirms from their inbox, they land back on the storefront with Subscription confirmed.

A two-panel popup, with a photo beside the offer, greets signed-out visitors four seconds after they arrive. Its default copy is “Sign up to get 10% OFF your first order”; you can replace the title, subtitle, button label, email placeholder and image. Closing it (by the close button, Escape or a click outside) keeps it away for 24 hours in that browser, and it never shows to signed-in Shoppers. Your social profile icons appear in the popup too.

  • Home hero slider: full-width slides, each with a badge line, heading, text and button.
  • Shop-page banner: a short image slider above the product grid, one button per slide.
  • CTA banner, promo cards and sale banner: ready-made home-page campaign blocks. The sale banner fills itself with products that are on sale.

These are covered in detail on Home page.

  • Testimonials: up to 24 hand-picked customer quotes on the home page, each with a name, job title, optional photo and an optional linked product.
  • Today’s Deals: products whose scheduled WooCommerce sale ends today, with a countdown to midnight in the store’s timezone. It fills itself; you only set the wording, the link and the banner.

Product pages carry a Share button that opens a dialog with a copyable link and buttons for Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Pinterest and email. A Facebook Messenger button appears too when the deployment sets NEXT_PUBLIC_FACEBOOK_APP_ID. Journal articles offer Facebook, Pinterest and X.

The storefront reads each campaign setting from the Companion plugin and hides any block that is switched off or has nothing to show, so an unused slot never leaves a gap. Newsletter sign-ups go from the storefront to the Companion plugin, which passes them to the Brevo form you picked. That form decides the lists, double opt-in and the messages Shoppers receive. Every accepted sign-up is also kept in a local list under StoreFront › Subscribers.

Public settings are cached for about five minutes, so expect a saved change to appear on the live store within that window.

  1. Newsletter. Install and connect the official Brevo plugin, create a sign-up form in it, then pick that form under StoreFrontSettingsNewsletter. See Customers and engagement.
  2. Promo popup. Switch it on and fill in the copy under StoreFrontSettingsPromo popup. See Scripts and promo popup.
  3. Sliders, banners, testimonials and deals. Use the Home page group and the Shop page tab. See Home page and Shop and product pages.
  4. Footer sign-up field. Add or edit an Input field (newsletter) item in the footer builder. See Footer and mobile bar.
  • Brevo is the only newsletter provider. Mailchimp support was removed. With no provider selected, the storefront tells Shoppers that sign-up is unavailable and stores nothing.
  • Footer fields can post elsewhere. A footer sign-up item can instead submit straight to an external form URL, in a new tab. Those sign-ups skip the Companion plugin and the local Subscribers list.
  • Subscribers list is read-only. It offers a list and CSV export, with no search, delete or unsubscribe; manage people in Brevo.
  • Home-page blocks ship switched off. Every home-page section except the slider starts off. The deployment’s HOME_SECTIONS setting can also leave a section out entirely, whatever its toggle says.
  • Today’s Deals skips variable products, because WooCommerce schedules their sales per variation.
  • The popup can be turned off per deployment with NEXT_PUBLIC_PROMO_MODAL=0, for example on staging.
