Features
Cart
A cart that follows the shopper between visits, with a slide-in mini cart, coupons, a shipping estimator and an honest free-delivery meter.
The cart keeps shoppers moving toward checkout. Adding a product opens a mini cart right where they are, a coupon or a delivery estimate is one field away, and a progress bar shows exactly how much more unlocks free delivery — calculated for the shopper’s own delivery zone, so it never promises what checkout will not honour.

What shoppers get
Section titled “What shoppers get”| Feature | What shoppers see |
|---|---|
| Persistent cart | The cart survives closing the tab and coming back later, for guests and signed-in shoppers alike. |
| Mini cart | A drawer that slides in on Add to cart, with quantities, remove, a coupon field, the free-delivery meter, suggestions, View cart and Checkout. |
| Cart page | A line table with quantity steppers and remove, Clear cart (with a confirmation), and a summary of subtotal, discounts, shipping, tax and total. |
| Coupons | Apply or remove discount codes in the cart, the mini cart or at checkout; the discount line names each code. |
| Shipping estimator | Estimate Shipping takes a country, state and postcode and lists the delivery options and prices before checkout. The fields are remembered, and the chosen rate carries through to checkout. |
| Free-delivery meter | “Add amount more for free delivery”, turning into “Free delivery unlocked” once the cart qualifies. |
| Suggestions | “You may also like” — cross-sells for everything in the cart, in the cart and the mini cart. |
| Express checkout | Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons under Proceed to checkout. New |
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The cart lives in WooCommerce. The storefront holds it with a secure cookie, so the same cart is there on the next visit and every price, tax and discount is WooCommerce’s own calculation — the storefront never does the sums itself.
The free-delivery meter is worked out by the Companion plugin for the zone the shopper is shipping to, using the same rules as WooCommerce’s Free shipping method. When there is no truthful number to show, the meter stays hidden. That happens when:
- the cart needs no shipping;
- the shopper has not entered a postcode or city yet;
- the cart splits into more than one shipping package;
- the destination’s zone has no enabled Free shipping method, or its minimum amount is 0;
- free shipping cannot be reached by spending more — for example, it requires a coupon.
The express buttons on the cart page buy the cart as it is, including any coupon already applied. See Express checkout.
Set it up
Section titled “Set it up”- Create coupons in WooCommerce under Marketing → Coupons. They work in the storefront as soon as they are published.
- Set up your shipping zones and methods in WooCommerce. To show the free-delivery meter, add a Free shipping method to a zone with “A minimum order amount” (or a minimum amount together with a coupon option the shopper can still meet) — see WooCommerce settings.
- Link cross-sells on each product under Linked Products to fill the “You may also like” suggestions.
- Express buttons on the cart page are switched on in the Stripe plugin — see Payments.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The cart and checkout pages are kept out of search engines and cannot be framed by other sites.
- The demo coupon
DEMO10exists only in Demo Mode; on a connected store, only your WooCommerce coupons apply. - Without the Companion plugin’s cart extension, the cart works normally and simply shows no free-delivery meter.
