Orders and invoices

A clear thank-you page, an order history with a visual status tracker, one-click reorders and PDF invoices that appear on their own.

After the purchase, shoppers want to know three things: did it work, where is my order, and where is my invoice. The storefront answers all three on your own pages — a detailed thank-you page, an order history with a status tracker, and PDF invoices that appear in the account as soon as your store issues them.

Where it shows
/order-confirmation/…, /account/orders and /account/orders/{id}
Configure in
Orders are managed in WooCommerce as usual; invoices by the PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce plugin
Requires
WooCommerce REST API keys on the storefront for order history; the invoicing plugin for PDF invoices

Straight after checkout, shoppers see their order number (with a copy button), the date, payment method, items, totals, addresses, delivery method and any note they left. Paying by bank transfer? Your bank details are right there. Orders placed on hold, or whose payment did not complete, get their own clear wording. Signed-in shoppers also get a link to the order in their account.

Feature What shoppers see
Order list A paged list with status tabs — All, Pending, Processing, On hold, Completed, Cancelled, Refunded and Failed — a copyable order number and View details.
Order details Every line item, shipping, tax and totals, the payment method, billing and shipping addresses, and each refund with the net amount paid.
Status tracker A visual timeline from placed to payment, processing and completed, with its own path and explanation for on hold, failed, cancelled and refunded orders.
Buy again Re-adds the order’s items that are still available and goes to checkout; anything no longer for sale is skipped.
Download invoice Appears on the order list and the order details once the invoice exists.

The dashboard also shows recent orders, the number of orders in progress and the total spent — see Accounts and sign in.

Orders stay in WooCommerce. The storefront reads a shopper’s orders with your store’s REST API keys and always checks that the order belongs to the signed-in shopper before showing it. The thank-you page is protected by the order’s secret key, so only the shopper who placed the order can open it, and it is kept out of search engines.

PDF invoices come from the PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce plugin. There is nothing to switch on: when that plugin has created an invoice for an order, the storefront notices and shows Download invoice. The PDF is passed through the storefront after the ownership check, so the plugin’s private document link is never shown to the shopper.

  1. Create WooCommerce REST API keys and add them to the storefront as WOO_CONSUMER_KEY and WOO_CONSUMER_SECRET — see Connect to WooCommerce. Without them, shoppers can still buy, but the account has no order history.
  2. For invoices, install PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce and set it up to create invoices the way you want — for example, when an order is completed. See WooCommerce settings.
  3. Manage orders, statuses and refunds in WooCommerce exactly as before; shoppers see each change the next time they open their account.
  • Order history needs a signed-in shopper. Guests keep their thank-you page and WooCommerce’s order emails.
  • Buy again uses current prices and availability, not the prices of the original order.
  • A shopper can open only their own orders; anyone else’s order is simply not found.
